Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is situated in the sub-region of Cima Corgo, in the Douro demarcated region - the birth place of some of the most well known wines in the world. Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is one of the most beautiful “Quintas” (estates) in the Douro valley and it is an example of the true nature of this region. History lies in the terrain, in the aromas and in the knowledge of the men who have kept it alive, through generations. Through the years the historical value of the “Quinta” has been carefully preserved – the 18th century manor house, the 17th century baroque chapel next to
the river, the orchards, the olive press and the 1764 winery.
Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo was reborn in 2005 as a “Hotel of Charm”, built from an old 18th century manor house designed in full harmony with nature and tradition. Guests are able to experience the true spirit of the Douro valley by accompanying the farming activities, trying out the walking routes and discovering the historical spots. Re-encountering tradition, our guests can choose amongst the 11 rooms – all of which have a panoramic view of the vineyards and the river - decorated according to the region's style and ensuring absolute comfort.
